Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over West-Oak
An early lead helped Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity defeat West-Oak 10-4 on Friday. Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity scored on a groundout by Cole Simpson in the first inning, a triple by Hayden Fuhr in the second inning, a walk by Simpson in the second inning, and a home run by Ben Huber in the second inning.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity earned the victory despite allowing West-Oak to score three runs in the first inning. West-Oak scored its runs on a home run by Jared Talley.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Fuhr tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs and Huber homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Drake McConnell was credited with the victory for Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity. He surrendered four runs on four hits over six innings, striking out ten. Fuhr threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Ben Brock took the loss for West-Oak. He surrendered eight runs on six hits over five and a third innings, striking out four.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Huber had a dinger in the second inning. Simpson went deep in the sixth inning.
Clay Posey led Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
West-Oak totaled seven hits. Garyson Goforth and Jeremiah Gibson all collected multiple hits for West-Oak.
