Congratulations to the Pendleton Boys Cross Country team who competed in the State Championship Cross Country meet in Columbia on Saturday. The Bulldogs ran their fastest team race of the year and finished in 6th place. This was the best team finish for the guys’ cross country team since 2013.

Once again, Dane Dickson and Ronan O’Neill led the Bulldogs team. In addition, they both made the 3A All-State Cross Country team by finishing 7th and 12th overall. Jacob Smoak ran his fastest race ever to finish third on the team. Casey Frock, Bryce Ables, and RJ Sutliff, who also ran has fastest race ever, rounded out the top runners for the Bulldogs.

Only one senior competed for the Bulldogs, and five of the seven guys who ran were in the 10th grade or lower, so they have the potential to be an even stronger team next year.
