Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-4 loss to Daniel on Monday. Daniel took the lead on a wild pitch in the first inning.
Daniel fired up the offense in the first inning. Katie Woodall lined out, scoring one run.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity was led by Reine Wood and Laney Jennings, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Daniel scored three runs in the fourth inning. Daniel’s big inning was driven by singles by Sarah Whiyfield and Sarah King and a double by Makayla Sexton.
Sexton was the winning pitcher for Daniel. She lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.
Rileigh Farr took the loss for Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity. She lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out three.
Bridget Barnes led Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
Sexton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Daniel in hits.
