Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity scored nine runs in the second on its way to a 17-2 victory over Berea on Monday. Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity offense in the inning was led by Kylee Gall, Reine Wood, Harper Bass, Amelia Kizer, Gall, and Bridget Barnes, who all drove in runs.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Gracie Cobb singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity scored nine runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Gall, Kizer, and Barnes, doubles by Wood and Bass, and a groundout by Gall.
Laney Jennings led the Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity to victory on the rubber. She lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one.
#20 took the loss for Berea. She surrendered 17 runs on 14 hits over five innings, striking out one.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity racked up 14 hits on the day. Jennings, Gall, Kizer, Barnes, Cobb, and Wood each collected multiple hits for Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity. Jennings led Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity with three hits in four at bats. Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kizer made the most plays with five.
