Wednesday’s game against Pickens was a heartbreaker for Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity, as they lost the lead late in an 8-4 defeat. The game was tied at three with Pickens batting in the top of the fifth when #30 drew a walk, scoring one run.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Reine Wood drove in one when she singled.
Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Michaela Hall doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Rileigh Farr led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity. She lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out one and walking one. Gracie Cobb threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Wood went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Pendleton Bulldogs Varsity in hits.
Pickens racked up 11 hits in the game. #3 and #6 each had multiple hits for Pickens. #3 led Pickens with three hits in four at bats. Pickens was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. #3 had the most chances in the field with seven. Pickens stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. #6 led the way with two.
