Pendleton Bulldogs JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-5 loss to Liberty on Wednesday. Liberty scored on a single by H Chapman, a groundout by C Garrick, and a single by P Reed in the first inning.
The Pendleton Bulldogs JV struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Liberty, giving up 12 runs.
Liberty got on the board in the first inning when Chapman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Liberty scored five runs in the sixth inning. T Avery, K Johnson, T Fowler, and J Lovell all drove in runs in the frame.
D Bledsoe led things off on the mound for Liberty. He surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings, striking out four.
Kennan Worley led things off on the hill for Pendleton Bulldogs JV. He surrendered seven runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five. RJ Sutliff and Blake Nixon entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and third innings and one inning respectively.
Pendleton Bulldogs JV tallied six hits in the game. Luke Taylor and Worley each had multiple hits for Pendleton Bulldogs JV. Worley and Taylor each collected two hits to lead Pendleton Bulldogs JV.
Liberty racked up nine hits. Reed and Chapman each managed multiple hits for Liberty. Reed led Liberty with four hits in four at bats.
